Mountain Bike Club
Powered by Sunset Tree Service
Norte’s Youth Mountain Bike Club introduces elementary, middle, and high school students to trails across northern Michigan. In addition to providing fun, active afterschool programs, Mountain Bike Club is designed to help kids make social connections, build confidence, and discover nature in a fun, inclusive environment.
Mountain Bike Club is made possible by the generosity of our supporting sponsors, City Bike Shop, Maxwell Medals & Awards, Intrepid Cycling Co., and title sponsor Sunset Tree Service.
Spring Mountain Bike Club
Our Spring sessions typically start the first full week of May and run for five consecutive weeks. Each trailhead offers a mix of groups to ensure every rider finds the right team for their interest and ability level. Coaches often adjust teams as necessary to ensure everyone is having fun!
Spring 2025 Program Fees:
1st-5th grade: $180
6th-12th grade, 2x per week: $200
6th-12th grade, 3x per week: $335
Who Should Join?
Everyone is invited to Mountain Bike Club! Kids should be comfortable riding 3-6 miles (1st-5th graders) or 8-15 miles (6th-12th grade) off road. We work hard to find the right fit for every child and shuffle teams throughout the first week of practice; your child’s coach will keep you informed of any changes!

SCHOLARSHIPS
Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors, Norte is proud to provide youth scholarships to ensure that all families can participate in our programs. We encourage families to apply for scholarships prior to registering at Scholarship Application.
No bike? No problem. We have program bikes available for participants who need one. You can also check out a bike for the long term through the Kids’ Bike Library.
COACHES WANTED!
Norte Youth Cycling seeks passionate, positive, and dedicated individuals to join our coaching team. As a coach, you will work with a small squad of young riders, focusing on motivating and mentoring them and ensuring their safety and well-being. Experience coaching is not required. We provide training for all coaches.
If you are passionate about helping children stay active and learn to ride bikes—and ready for some fun—we want to hear from you. Let’s go, coach!
Fall Mountain Bike Club
Our Fall sessions typically start the first full week of school and run five consecutive weeks. Like our Spring program, we adjust kids based on interest and ability level so no riders are left behind.
